Tucuvi is partnering with Europe’s largest provider of digital-first home healthcare, Cera, to implement Lola for their remote user monitoring through telephone conversations in the UK.
Cera is Europe’s largest provider of digital-first home healthcare, delivering care, nursing, telehealth and repeat prescriptions. Cera’s mission is to empower patients to live longer, better lives in the comfort of their own homes, saving the need to go to hospital, very aligned with Tucuvi’s mission. Cera’s team of carers and nurses deliver 50,000+ care visits a day on behalf of over 300 NHS and Local Governments - equivalent in capacity to 50 NHS hospitals. Cera’s technology is also used by hundreds of care businesses that collectively deliver over 1 million at-home appointments per week.
This collaboration is set to significantly improve users’ wellbeing and health outcomes - expected to not only reduce hospitalisation rates further, but also emergency department visits and reduce readmissions to hospitals.
The project will be rolled out before Christmas at four key Cera locations across England and Scotland. It will initially focus on identifying symptoms of flu and COVID-19, as the major concerns throughout the winter season, and the monitoring of health deterioration in chronic patients. Dr Ben Maruthappu MBE, CEO and Co-founder of Cera, comments:
“This voice assistant is the innovative next step in our journey to becoming the leader in digital-first healthcare-at-home, and we are all delighted to be undergoing the pilot this month with Tucuvi. Offering AI-powered virtual assistance through automated phone calls will help us target the maximum number of service users - with many more able to access a phone, compared to tablets or laptops. It will enable us to deliver great care to even more people, reducing the cost of healthcare further, and in turn, relieving pressure on the NHS. We are excited to see how this trial goes and the impact that it has on our carers and clients. Watch this space!”
María González, CEO and Co-Founder of Tucuvi, shares:
“We are excited to start this journey with Cera, the leading home healthcare company in Europe, and a partner with whom we share the vision of how technology will transform healthcare. Tucuvi’s goal in this project is to help Cera's care teams in delivering high-quality care more efficiently, enabling the care teams to reach more patients and focus on their more important needs. We are on a mission to make healthcare accessible and efficient so that every patient can have the best life quality, and working with Cera will enable us to scale our impact in the UK and the NHS”
