Tucuvi, one of the granted companies of the Women TechEU funds

The European Commission announced the results of the second WomenTechEU call, targeting innovative European deep-tech companies founded by women.

The European Commission announced the results of the second WomenTechEU call, targeting innovative European deep-tech companies founded by women.

We are very proud and enthusiastic to announce that Tucuvi has been selected as one of the granted companies of the Women TechEU funds, an initiative of the European Commission that supports deep-tech start-ups led by women.

Tucuvi is a company that develops an empathic artificial intelligence capable of automating medical phone conversations, improving the quality and efficiency of home health care. Our solution allows health professionals to follow up and assist patients remotely, reducing the number of face-to-face visits required and optimizing time and resources.

With the Women TechEU funds, we will receive 75,000 euros to boost the growth of our company, as well as business acceleration services and personalized mentoring from experts in the sector. In addition, we will be part of an exclusive community of women leaders in technology, where we can share experiences, knowledge and opportunities.

Women TechEU is a program that aims to foster female talent in the field of innovation and technology, a sector where women are still underrepresented. According to data from the European Commission1, only 15% of innovative start-ups in Europe are founded or co-founded by women, and only 8% receive external funding.

This second edition of WomenTechEU has increased its budget to 10 million euros1 and attracted a record number of interest with 467 applications from 35 Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries. Following the evaluation, a panel of independent experts selected a total number of 134 companies for funding. They come from 26 different countries with 14% of companies based in countries associated to Horizon Europe and 15% from Horizon Europe widening countries.

Road to Success

From Tucuvi we are convinced that this program will help us scale our business and consolidate ourselves as a leading company in the digital health market. This is a huge endorsement towards fulfilling our mission of making healthcare accessible and efficient by providing innovative solutions that help people live better lives.

Last June 2022, Tucuvi received €5.5 million in funding from the European Innovation Council, another grant conceived by the European Commission, recalling the potential of LOLA, our AI voice-based virtual medical assistant, and the impact it is having not only on healthcare systems but also on patient care.

We want to thank Women TechEU for this unique opportunity and for their support to women entrepreneurs in the field of technology, and also to congratulate the rest of the winning companies and encourage all women who have innovative ideas to dare to start up and participate in future calls for Women TechEU.

Together we can unlock the potential of technology to transform healthcare and pave the way for a healthier and brighter future.
